Block Theme Legend

This legend explains the distribution of content and management for the Block Theme, as seen in the demo. The Block Theme requires the Options Framework plugin to manage theme options.

1. The Custom Header

You can upload a logo or image of your choosing to fill this location within the Appearance > Header settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Header tutorial for further instructions related to uploading your logo.

2. Twitter Feed

You can enter your Twitter user name within the Appearance > Theme Options > Misc settings. This section can optionally be hidden or displayed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings.

3. The Menu

You can manage the pages, categories and links added to your menu within the Appearance > Menus settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Menu tutorial. The menu can optionally be hidden or displayed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings.

4. Sidebar Menu Widget

You can add any widget to this section, but it’s meant to be used as an optional sidebar menu using the Custom Menu widget. You can manage the pages, categories and links added to your menu within the Appearance > Menus settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Menu tutorial.

5. The Featured Slider

Content is added to the featured slider as posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Slideshow. Images are added using Featured Images, and videos are added using the Featured Video field within the post. This section can optionally be hidden or displayed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings.

6. Homepage Sidebar Posts

The homepage sidebar section displays posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images. This section can optionally be displayed within Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings.

7. Homepage Featured Posts

The homepage featured section displays posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images.

8. Homepage Left Sidebar Widgets

Widgets can be added to the homepage left sidebar within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration. You can display text, links, a calendar, social media links and much more within this section.

9. Right Sidebar Widgets

Widgets can be added to the right sidebar within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration. You can display text, links, a calendar, social media links and much more within this section.

 

Additional Theme Options

Background

The main background image and color can be changed within the Appearance > Background settings of the WordPress administration. View the tutorial here.

Footer Widgets

Widgets can optionally be added to the footer within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration. If no widgets are added to the footer, the section will not be displayed.

Custom Navigation Menu

The main navigation menu links can be customized within the Appearance > Menus settings. View the tutorial here.

Link and Highlight Colors

Link and highlight colors for the Block Theme can be changed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Colors settings.
