Health and Beauty Theme Legend

This legend explains the distribution of content and management for the Health and Beauty Theme version 3.0+, as seen in the demo. The Health and Beauty Theme requires the Options Framework plugin to manage theme options.

1. Twitter Feed

You can optionally display your Twitter feed here within the Appearance > Theme Options > Misc Options.

2. Contact Information

You can enter your phone number or email in this location within the Appearance > Theme Options > Misc Options.

3. The Custom Header

You can upload a logo or image of your choosing to fill this location of the theme within the Appearance > Header settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Header tutorial.

4. The Menu

You can manage the pages, categories and links added to your menu within the Appearance > Menus settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Menu tutorial.

5. The Featured Slider

Content is added to the featured slider as posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and videos are added using the Featured Video field within the post.

6. Homepage Widgets

Widgets can be added to the featured banner area within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration. You can display text, links, a calendar, social media links and much more within this section.

7. Testimonials Slider

Content is added to the testimonial slider using the Testimonials custom post type. The post title displays the author, and the excerpt displays that actual quote. You can optionally hide or display this section, and choose the transition time within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings.

8. Homepage Blog

The homepage blog displays the 3 most recent posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images within the post.

9. Featured Tabber

The featured tabber displays the 7 most recent posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and videos are added using the Featured Video field within the post.

Guys please help. I am no techie and run a sailing school in Greece. Yuo guys are half my age with double my brain no doubt but you probably can’t sail like I can even if you do live in Hawai. Each to his own! I have spent the last 5 hours trying to get the testimonials and sliders to show on my home page. I have followed your extremely limited instructions (perfectly good for competent designers I’m sure but by no means idiot proof as here is your idiot writing to you.) and no joy.

Content is added to the featured slider as posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and videos are added using the Featured Video field within the post.

DONE – i have a special category with posts of the video embed code of you tube, also featured image added exactly as per your instructions

TESTIMONIALS – done – filled in my name as a test author and an excert test quote – published it but guess what

neither appear on the home page or any other bloody page.

    this is maddening! Please help

      Hi Simon,

It seems you have since got this issue resolved. The only reasons it would not be displaying is if you had not selected the areas to be displayed within the theme options, or if your WordPress Reading settings were set to display a static page instead of your latest posts.

Kudos on the sailing. It’s something that’s always interested me. Surfing will have to hold me over til then though ;)

Thank you Organic Themes for creating the lovely theme websites. Our website will now attract more people who want to learn Wushu as a martial arts at Harvard. This wouldn't have happened without all your help!
