This legend explains the distribution of content and management for the Music Theme, as seen in the demo. The theme requires the Options Framework plugin to manage theme options, and the WooCommerce plugin to sell products.
1. The Site Title
You can optionally display a site title within the navigation bar within the Appearance > Theme Options > General settings. This option is recommended if you don’t have a logo.
2. The Menu
You can manage the pages, categories and links added to your menu within the Appearance > Menus settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Menu tutorial.
3. The Custom Header
You can upload a logo or image of your choosing to fill this location of the theme within the Appearance > Header settings of the WordPress administration. You can add an image of any size to the Custom Header of the Music Theme. However, we don’t recommend much larger than 1600px wide by 520px high for site load times. You can change the background color for this section within the Appearance > Theme Options > Colors settings to match your theme. View the Custom Header tutorial.
4. Featured Posts
The featured section displays posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and videos are added using the Featured Video field within the post. The category title can optionally be hidden or displayed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage settings.
5. Homepage Audio Player
The audio player can optionally be displayed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Player settings. Songs are added to the player within the Playlist > Add New Track section. You must upload both a .mp3 and .ogg version of each song. If you need to convert your audio files, we can recommend the Pro Audio Converter App for Mac. You cannot display more than one player on a page at a time.
6. Tour Dates Widget
The custom Tour Dates Widget can be added to any widgetized section within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration. Tour Dates are added to the widget using the custom post type Tour Dates > Add New Date section.
7. Homepage Sidebar Widgets
Widgets can be added to the sidebar within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration. You can display text, links, a calendar, social media links and much more within this section.
8. Footer Social Links
You can optionally display the social link icons within the Appearance > Theme Options > Social settings.
Additional Theme Options
Background
The main background image and color can be changed within the Appearance > Background settings of the WordPress administration. View the tutorial here.
Custom Navigation Menu
The main navigation menu links can be customized within the Appearance > Menus settings. View the tutorial here.
Discography
You can add albums to your discography within the Discography > Add New Album section. Songs are added to an album by simply uploading the .mp3 and .ogg audio files to the post using the Upload/Insert media button. The album post will then list and play all audio tracks added to the post. A discography page can be created by using the Discography Page Template.
Slideshow Page Template
You can create a slideshow page template following the instructions here. Images are added to the slideshow by simply uploading your image files to the page using the Upload/Insert media button. The slideshow page template will then display all images uploaded to the page in the slideshow.
Link and Highlight Colors
Link and highlight colors for the Music Theme can be changed within the Appearance > Theme Options > Colors settings.

Hi!
I’m not sure, reading the documentation, if it’s possible to change fonts in this theme…
Can you tell me?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Ruelle,
It is possible, yes, either through a plugin, or edits to the theme’s stylesheet.
Thanks!
I can’t for the life of me figure out how to add a custom logo… How can this be done? It’s only giving me the option to add a text logo, which is not what I want.
Hi Rob,
You can add a logo via Appearance –> Header. The text logo (where it says ‘Music Theme’ in the demo is exactly that — text).
Thanks!
So it’s not possible to add an IMAGE logo on this theme, only text?
It’s possible, but that area of the theme would need to be modified. Currently the text-area to the left of the menu is text only, with the middle area of the site being where an image could be uploaded.
We could give you general directions on how to make this change through support, and we also provide customization services through Werkpress: http://www.organicthemes.com/customization.
Thanks!
Hi! Is it possible to translate some elements of this template (like read more button, headers in tour dates page etc.)? This is important for me because i would like to make multilingual site.
Thanks!
Yes, those elements can be translated. The theme is localized.
Hey there!
I can’t seem to get my music player to work. I read that I needed to upload both the MP3 *and* OGG file-types, which I did, but what happens is the track is posted twice, & the play button doesn’t work.
Can anone help or clarify things for me?! Thanks in advance!
Hi Jimmy,
Can you submit a support ticket via Zendesk, as well as a link to your site?
Thanks,
Jeremy
I’m having the same issue. I’ve uploaded the mp3 and ogg files, and the tracks show up. When I click on a track, the play arrow very briefly changes to indicate the track is playing…and then switches back. The track never actually ends up playing. Please help!
Hi nktoro,
Can you submit a support ticket via Zendesk, as well as a link to your site? Also try disabling all your plugins, as one may be interfering with the theme.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Hi,
just downloaded the Music Theme today, i read all the tutorials about the discography and album page. I followed the steps,
1. I added an album in discography settings (dashboard).
2. I converted and uploaded all the music.
3. I uploaded the album cover as a featured image
4. I made an Album page (mani menu) and set the page template to discography
so far so good, everything worked just fine,
when I click in the menu on the album page, the cover shows,
if I click throught to listen to the music I get a 404 page, EVEN if the url is correct.
Pleas someone help! I spent all day uploading and converting music and now it can’t find the page.
What I’m I doing wrong.
Thanks in advance!
Lena
Hi Lena,
Can you try re-setting your permalinks, via Settings –> Permalinks (WordPress dashboard).
Thanks!
Thanks Jeremy!
It worked… drove me nuts… but now I know
Happy Holidays!
Lena
Glad to hear it worked
Cheers!
How do you change the TOUR order from descending (later dates to ascending new dates? We are using the music theme.
I have the same problem with the Music Theme. The tour dates appear to be displaying in the order they are entered. Can we change the sort order on this?
Hi Mike,
You can with a post order plugin, or by manually editing the date stamps associated with the tour dates (custom) post type.
Thanks!
Hi,
How to i remove the left sidebar in other pages?
Just can’t seem to find it.
1. The main image seems to fit, but when I zoom out it looks like there is a white banner behind it, signifying that the image was not correct in width. Originally I had sized my image to 1600 (whatever the standard measurements are) but why does it have that white space when you zoom out?
2. What size should the background image be in order to truly fit the entire site and how do I freeze it when I scroll?
Hi guys, is it possible to sell separate mp3 in an album or a customer must purchase the entire album at once ?
thanks
hey is there anybody out there ?

Your demo seems to be a little disingenuous in that the font sizes and height of the navigation menu and the padding of the container, etc. are different in the demo than the default of your theme with no way to change it without using custom CSS. It’s a little frustrating that I bought this theme, yet I actually have to do a bunch of custom CSS work just to mirror your demo before getting started with my own modifications.
Am I missing something, or do you really have a different look in your demo than the theme that we actually buy???
Hi Sam,
The theme you purchase is exactly the same as the theme demo. If you’re running into an issue, please submit a support request (http://www.organicthemes.com/support) and we’ll take a look into what’s going on.
Thanks!
