Photographer Theme Legend

This legend explains the distribution of content and management for the Photographer Theme, as seen in the demo. The Photographer Theme requires the Options Framework plugin to manage theme options, and the WooCommerce plugin to sell products.

1. The Custom Header

You can upload a logo or image of your choosing to fill this location of the theme within the Appearance > Header settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Header tutorial.

2. The Menu

You can manage the pages, categories and links added to your menu within the Appearance > Menus settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Menu tutorial.

3. The Featured Slideshow

Content is added to the featured slideshow as posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and video is added using the Featured Video field within the post.

4. Featured Page

The bottom page displays content of the page selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. The bottom section beneath the slideshow can optionally be displayed within Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings.

5. Featured Products or Widget Section

Products or featured widgets can optionally be displayed in this section. Products can be displayed by installing and configuring the WooCommerce plugin, then configuring the options for the section within Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings. The shop functionality can be disabled in Appearance > Theme Options > Display Settings, and the section will display homepage widgets in its place. Widgets can then be added to the section within the Appearance > Widgets settings of the WordPress administration.

6. Twitter Feed and Social Links

You can enter your Twitter user name within the Appearance > Theme Options > Social settings. This section can optionally be hidden or displayed.

    Hello

Is there any way to add cutom post types in the home page slider ? Looks like only posts are recognized. Also, posts cannot be slideshow so one needs to use an external plug in. This is a problem when added with slideshows.
    Please help me to resolve

    Thanks

Nop sir : I can manage with html and php by myself. If I bought your theme, it is because I don’t want to spend hours coding. As your code is protected, I cannot fix it myself. Then, if you mean I’m hostage with your developper, it looks like a very bad joke.
Hope you can bring me a solution.

      eMage,

I’m not sure I’m following? If you purchase our theme, you will have access to the code — none of it is ‘protected’ in the sense that you wouldn’t have access to it.

      Thanks,

      Jeremy

Hello. Just wanted to mention Jeremy answered to me the day I sent my request and gave to me the answers to my questions. I could customize everything I wanted and I’m quite satisfied with this theme. I agree my point about the code was weird… if not stupid : I just didn’t read the code and repeated a wrong string found on the web saying the organictheme codes were protected… Thanks and sorry for being nut (sometimes)!

Hi. I am having a problem turning off the mobile view in this theme. I am far from a web guru and had at one point seen an option to enable mobile support thinking it would make the page load better, I clicked it and now can’t remember where it was that I clicked it. Our page now loads terribly on I Phone 4 (which is what most of my clients have) so I’d like to go back to how it was and can’t seem to find any information to guide me to where I had origionally found the setting to turn it off. http://www.stylesboutiques.com is the site. Any help you could give me would be amazing! Thank you!

I have created numerous categories, yet only 5 of those categories show up in the Featured Slideshow Category drop down selection menu. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there, thanks for the awesome theme. 2 questions.

    1. Do you have any guidelines or a recommended picture size for a Blog post?

    2. I would like the landing page to display my blog entries instead of the default slideshow. Can you guide me through the process? I have tried to edit the homepage menu under Appearance but to no avail.

Thanks again for the help and support!

Just purchased the Photographer theme. I can’t seem to find any options for Justifying the header image to the left and having the menus to the right as in your mockup above. Am I missing something?? Help.

    • Jeremy

      Hi Thanassi,

That screenshot is a bit outdated, and is reflecting an older build of the theme. To have that sort of layout, styling changes are required for the theme.

      Thanks!

    Hello,
I bought your “Photographer theme” but I can’t get the slideshow on the front page to include the title and body content. I have already checked the box on “appearance/theme options/layout”that says:
“Selecting this option will display the page title and body content on the slideshow page template.” but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Also something that I cannot get to work is the “slideshow”page template. On your sample you say “Simply upload your photos to the page using the media uploader, and they will be displayed beautifully in a responsive slideshow. You may choose to hide this content in the theme options layout settings.” but doing that doesn’t work for me.
Can you please help me with that.
    Thanks in advance.

OK Jeremy, thanks a lot, but how can I get there?
Where can I place a support ticket?
If I go to the address you gave me (http://www.organicthemes.com/support) it redirects me to my account page.
After looking around for a while I found about Zendesk, and Organic Themes says:
“Upon purchasing a theme, you will automatically be registered for Zendesk support with your new account. There is no need to fumble with transaction ID’s or multiple registrations. Easy peasy.”
but I have no transaction ID or nothing. I don’t know how to login into Zendesk.

I mean, from what I been reading there’s been a lot of people who is having problems with the slideshow page template issue. Can’t you answer me here?

Here is the page where I’m trying to use the slideshow:
    http://iamhome.es/5414-2
Althought it’s empty, I swear I have inserted the images via the media uploader button and the slideshow template is activated. In fact if you look at the source code, you’ll see it doesn’t find any images (or doesn’t place them where it should)

    Well, thanks for your help

    • Jeremy

      anaalcalde,

If you have having trouble logging into support, please e-mail us at ‘support@organicthemes.com’ with the e-mail addresses associated with your support account, and we will resolve any login issues you are experiencing.

I’ll need to check how you’ve setup the slideshow template, so I will need you to send along login credentials for your dashboard in the same e-mail.

      Thanks!

    • Jeremy

      Nancy,

You would need a privacy or membership plugin to password protect the galleries (as WordPress’ native privacy doesn’t work with page templates).

      Thanks!

  9. Chris

Hey, I’d like to get rid of the social icons that appear when you hover over the images on my home page of the Photographer theme.

Anybody know how to do this?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Hello…have a pre-purchase question. I wondered if SmugMug can be integrated into this theme?? Thank you!

    • Jeremy

      Hi Laura,

The theme is i18n ready (translation ready), so it should be compatible with WPML, but we aren’t able to make any gaurantees related to 3rd party plugins.

      Thanks!
