This legend explains the distribution of content and management for the Portfolio Theme, as seen in the demo. The Portfolio Theme requires the Options Framework plugin to manage theme options.
1. The Custom Header
You can upload a logo or image of your choosing to fill this location of the theme within the Appearance > Header settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Header tutorial.
2. The Menu
You can manage the pages, categories and links added to your menu within the Appearance > Menus settings of the WordPress administration. View the Custom Menu tutorial.
3. The Featured Slider
Content is added to the featured slider as posts of a category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and video is added using the Featured Video field within the post.
4. Homepage Posts
The homepage posts display the category selected within the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings. Images are added using Featured Images, and videos are added using the Featured Video field within the post. This section can optionally be displayed within Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage Settings.
You can direct posts to pages (or vice versa) using the Page Links To plugin.

4. Homepage Posts
the number of posts in the home can be more than 4?
best regards
Yes, you can have as many posts as you like displayed beneath the slider.
if I wanted to see post 5 in the home (Section 4)
you would see all five, two-line, or there is a slide / paging?
thanks
Hi Rox,
You would see all 5 posts, the 5th post appearing on the second line. There is no pagination for the homepage posts, although it could be added with minor customization to the code.
can I reduce the width of the post and enter it 5 in a line?
Thanks
That would require some customization to the stylesheet, but it’s possible if you are familiar with CSS. We can guide you in making the change via our support forums.

Hi,
I have the old portfolio themes template and I can’t get the slider to appear.
I’ve tried installing the options framework plugin as it suggests this is needed. But when I go to “Appearance” / “Theme Options” it says:
No Options Are Loaded
Your theme doesn’t appear to support the Options Framework yet.
If this is a mistake, make sure that the file options.php is in your theme folder and that you have the correct theme activated.
I’m new to wordpress so don’r really know what I’m doing wrong!
Can anyone help??
Hi Dan,
The older version of the Portfolio Theme does not use the Options Framework plugin. The options are within the theme, in the lower left tab title “Organic Themes”.
Hi David,
yeah I just tried that, but they’re still not showing. I’ve tried a few different combinations but they’re still not showing on the homepage. Is there something else I need to activate to get it to show?
Hey, I can’t seem to find my last post on here, but 2 quick questions:
1) How do I get the slider working on the homepage?
2) Where is the photoshop file that is supposed to come with the organic portfolio theme?
Thanks
Chris
Hi.
I am having troubles setting up the slider, i had uploaded 3 images and set them up as Featured, but only 1 image shows up. NO SLIDER.
What im doing wrong?
Thanks.
G.
It seems you only have one post displayed in your silder. Choose a category of posts within your theme options that contains more than 1 post, or simply create more posts for the category that is already defined for the slider. Images are added to the slider using Featured Images, http://www.organicthemes.com/tutorial/adding-featured-images/
Is there an option to set the slider to fade from one image into the next instead of sliding? And can you set the slider speed lower than in the demo?
Currently the theme uses the AnythingSlider script. If you want the images to fade, you will need to integrate the AnythingFader javascript in place of the existing script, http://css-tricks.com/examples/AnythingFader/
Can this theme be used to create an online store with products? I just wanted to make sure what options were available before anything. Thanks
The theme does not come with any pre-installed store options. However, you can integrate a shop into the theme using a number of plugins such as Shopp, PHPurchase, WP-eCommerce, Quick Shop and more.
On your homepage in the demo where the posts are located, you have 4 circular graphics representing different posts. When I click to go to the post, this image is no longer visible. How did you make that graphic a featured image on the homepage posts section and not featured within the post itself?
I just upgraded to the most recent version of WordPress and am using the previous version of the Portfolio Theme. The banner will run as usual when I am on the page, but when I navigate away and then return to the site, the banner goes crazy as if it is making up for the time I was away. Any help would be great. You can see what I mean if you got to http://www.elenichols.com, open a new tab and wait a few minutes, then return to the site. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the questions everybody! If you have additional questions, please post them in the support forum: http://www.organicthemes.com/support
