Adding Widgets

WordPress offers a variety of default widgets such as Search, Recent Posts, Links, Calendar, etc. These widgets can be added to your Organic Themes sidebar and other “widgetized” sections of your theme. Various plugins can be installed within WordPress to provide additional widgets.

Drag and drop the available widgets in to the widgetized sections. *Widgetized sections vary per theme.

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets section within the WordPress administration. Drag and drop your desired widgets in to the sidebar or widgetized section of your choosing. After dragging and dropping the widget, configure and save the widget settings.

    Hi,

I LOVE your template! This is the first time I have ever set up a blog so i’m a little stuck. I can’t figure out how to put a feature image just below the header next to my quote by Cecil.

In all of your examples there is a large photo, but all I can seem to do is put something to the right of the page with Homepage top right – Is there a way of adding homepage top left?

    Thanks heaps!

I am using your Structure theme via wordpress.com and I do not understand how I am to fill the top space when I only have access to the right side of the Homepage widget space. I honestly wouldn’t mind removing the space all together.
    Help!

Organic Themes does not own the version of the Structure Theme on wordpress.com. We simply provided our free version of the theme to WordPress and they modified it for use on wordpress.com. We have no control over their hosted version of the theme. However, I think the answer you are looking for is here, http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

HI, i have the Structure theme V1.2.1. I’ve got all the footer widgets options, but i don’t get to see any of them on the site. Why is that?

    •  by  David

That’s an old version of the theme, but you have to add widgets to the footer for them to be visible. Otherwise, they remain collapsed.

I am using the ‘Natural’ theme. How do I delete the ‘Subscribe’ sidebar from the home page? I’ve already added a new home page sidebar on the right hand side, but it did not remove the default Subscribe sidebar. Thanks!

    Hi there,
I am trying to create an image to fit the space of the homepage widget so there is no white space. What size does it need to be?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,
I would like a widget with text AND an image to the left… how to do that? Take a look at Blameitonfashion.com where you can see it on this blogs left side.

You can create ads in any text widget using HTML, or you can install any number of advertising plugins.

Using Magazine Theme, is there a way to get the youtube RSS feed to display the image of the video instead of just the link to the video in the home page side bar?

    Thanks

Hi. I’m trying to add section widgets to my nonprofit theme but nothing is showing up. Why might this happen?

I’d like to know sth about more about widgets before I make purchase. I’m now trying to build a site with plug-in qTranslate, but I can’t find a right place on your theme that suitable for placing this pug-in icon. May I have your suggestion?

      Meow,

Depending on the theme, you could add to a right, left, footer (or in the case of the News Theme) header sidebar. If none of these locations is suitable, then adding to the header or footer (header.php and footer.php respectively) is a straightforward process.

      Thanks!

I am looking through a number of tutorials. What I would find especially helpful is to have no discussion here on the blog post, and all discussion over on the support forums! Ideally, you could create a new thread on the forum whenever you release a new tutorial post, then link to it in the post. Turn off comments here and send folks over to the forum!

    Mahalo for listening. :-)

      Hi Roxanne,

Thank you for the suggestion :) Definitely something to consider for future tutorials.

      Thanks!

    Hello,

I am using the Restaurant Theme. I need my website to be multilingual, is the WPML plugin compatible with the Restaurant Theme ?? If not, what plugin would you recommend ??

    Thanks you very much

      Hi Nippur,

If you run into any kind of issue, it would be with automatic string translation. You could also look into a plugin such as qTranslate, or manual translation.

      Thanks!
