Change The Background Color

Organic Themes allows for the changing of the background color and image within all of our themes.

Choose to upload a background image or select a color of your choosing.
Navigate to the Appearance > Background section within the WordPress administration. You can then choose to upload a background image of your choosing, or change the background color. Save the settings when you have completed your changes. There is the option to restore the background to its default should you be unhappy with your changes.

There is not a “backgroud” option on any menu.
There should be an option to change the background beneath the Appearance tab in the WordPress admin for all of our themes, unless you are using an older version of the theme.
I’m having the same problem as Tamma, the options under my appearance tab are as follows:
Themes
Widgets
Menus
Login Style
Header
Editor
I’m currently using the NonProfit theme version 2.0.
Ah, nevermind, I didn’t notice that you guys recently released version 3.0.
I’d like to get rid of the black box around the page, is there a way to do this?
This can be accomplished within the stylesheet. You can refer to our support forums for instructions in making the change, http://organicthemes.com/support/
Thanks!
I want to upload an image for my background. But everytime I upload the image I want to use, the comes out too small, just a little box. I don’t want tile, just one big background image. Does the image i’m uploading have to be a certain size? please help.
Hi,
Was there ever a reply to Devin’s question about the background image? I just purchased the Natural theme and am having the same problem with just the little box showing up.
What is the recommended size for a background image?
Thanks.
The site background image can be as large as you want. There should be positioning options after uploading the image.
I have the portfolio theme and was wondering if there was an easy way to get rid of the lines in the background?
I would like to just have a solid colour as a background but when I pick a colour I am still stuck with the Natural Theme background with my colour at the bottom of the page, how can I get rid of the theme’s background? At this point I do not have a picture I want to use.
Hi there,
I would like to upload one image as the background image for my site. What is the best size for that image to be to cover the full page? Also can you further explain the positioning option you mentioned earlier as I can’t see that option appearing where you upload an image for the background in the natural theme?
Thanks a lot
Mel
Hi Mel,
There is no ‘best size’ for am image to fully cover a page as a background, and that is because everyone’s monitor sizes are different. You would want to look into something like this: http://css-tricks.com/perfect-full-page-background-image/, which will require editing the stylesheet directly (and not using the Appearance –> Background functionality).
Thanks!
